• Occupation of space   • Goals galore   • The final pass skill

Sassá made his Botafogo debut in July 2012, when the Rio de Janeiro side was also joined by the Dutch midfielder Clarence Seedorf. The young forward had rarely been played, and was loaned outburst to Oeste and then to Náutico in 2014. There the Brazilian found his game and was brought back home next season.

Sass is a type of forward looking for space in the channels, ready to make a run forward to behind the opposing defenders. A er receiving the ball, he can either shoot from outside of the penalty box, break into it or make a through-pass to a teammate. If he manages to get to the ball near the opponent’s goal, he can be expected to shoot with either foot or with his head, or even perform a bicycle kick. The uncompromising striker vies for loose balls as well: he commits himself into challenges, gets physical and can drag the ball past opponents. The same applies to his defensive contribution: he closes down, contests for the ball and dives into tackles.
